Cheddar and Bacon Meatballs

Meatballs are a favorite dish among both children and adults, and we bet you’ll find them even more irresistible in this version: cheddar and bacon meatballs! Soft morsels of meat filled with gooey cheese, wrapped in a golden, crispy bacon shell, and enhanced by the unique flavor of barbecue sauce.

Easy to prepare, they are perfect for serving at an informal appetizer or as a main dish, paired with a salad or, why not, with classic French fries… the only challenge will be getting them to the table because these cheddar and bacon meatballs will disappear the moment they are out of the oven!

Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (beef or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 200g cheddar cheese, diced
  • 150g bacon, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Barbecue sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, cheddar cheese, bacon, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with barbecue sauce for dipping.
