Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
  • 50g cooked ham, chopped
  • 50g grated cheese (such as Parmigiano or Grana Padano)
  • 1 egg yolk, for brushing
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Herbs or seeds (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into strips, about 1 cm wide.
  3. In a bowl, mix the chopped ham and grated cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Place a teaspoon of the ham and cheese mixture at one end of each strip and fold it over to seal.
  5. Brush each grissini with egg yolk and sprinkle with herbs or seeds if desired.
  6. Arrange the grissini on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
