Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g potatoes
  • 100g stale bread
  • 100ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50g grated Parmesan cheese
  • Parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Broth for basting
  • Cornstarch for sauce

Instructions

  1. Boil and mash the potatoes. Soak the stale bread in milk.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, mashed potatoes, soaked bread, egg, Parmesan, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 60 minutes, basting occasionally with broth.
  5. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf and thicken the juices in the baking dish with cornstarch to create a sauce.
  6. Serve the meatloaf in slices with the sauce and your choice of sides.
