Ingredients

  • 500g shrimp
  • 400g peeled tomatoes
  • 1 piece fresh ginger
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toasted bread slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by cleaning and peeling them, setting the shells aside.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery.
  3. Add the shrimp shells and cook for a few minutes to release their flavor.
  4. Pour in the peeled tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add water to cover the ingredients and let it simmer for about 40 minutes to make the broth.
  6. Strain the broth and return it to the pot.
  7. Add the peeled shrimp and grated ginger, cooking gently until the shrimp are done.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot with toasted bread slices.
