With summer on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to make irresistible homemade gelato! We have chosen a salted caramel gelato recipe prepared with the new Bimby® and Cookidoo®… and spoiler alert: it’s a true delight! Thanks to the guided steps on Cookidoo®, the preparation is incredibly simple, guaranteeing fantastic results on the first try. This salted caramel sauce is perfect for drizzling over your favorite desserts, but we used it to enhance a creamy base of salted caramel gelato: a fresh and delicious combination, customizable to your tastes. Ingredients

  • 500g whole milk
  • 200g heavy cream
  • 100g sugar
  • 50g salted caramel sauce
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk and cream into the Bimby® bowl.
  2. Add the sugar and heat the mixture at 80°C for 5 minutes on speed 3.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Slowly add the heated milk mixture to the egg yolks while stirring continuously.
  5. Return the mixture to the Bimby® bowl and cook at 85°C for 10 minutes on speed 4.
  6. Cool the mixture, then mix in the salted caramel sauce.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Once chilled, churn the mixture in the Bimby® using the ice cream function for about 20 minutes.
  9. Transfer the gelato into a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
