Ingredients

  • 400g ripe figs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 75g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300ml milk
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Wash and slice the figs.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the milk and whisk until smooth.
  6. Sift the flour and salt into the mixture and stir until just combined.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread the fig slices evenly over it.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the figs.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until golden and set.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
