Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 500g onions
  • 3 eggs
  • 200ml cream
  • 100g Gruyère cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Peel and slice the onions thinly.
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil and add the onions. Cook slowly until soft and caramelized.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, grated Gruyère, salt, and pepper.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry in a pie dish, trimming the edges.
  6. Spread the caramelized onions over the pastry base.
  7. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the onions.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.
